Mozambique: High quality Chinese rice introduced to Mozambique

Beijing, China, 14 April – Last week high quality Chinese rice was cropped in the outskirts of Xai-Xai, capital of Gaza province, Mozambique, according to the Diario do Povo in Beijing Monday.

In 2007, the Chinese Hubei province and the Mozambican Gaza province were twinned and launched a cooperation project to plant rice over an area of 3000 hectares.

According to the Diário do Povo, Chinese technicians obtained good results in the test cultivation by using high quality varieties with an average production of 10 tonnes per hectare. (macauhub)
