Mozambique and India prepare double taxation agreement

Maputo, Mozambique, 15 April – The governments of Mozambique and India are finalising an agreement to prevent double taxation and income tax evasion by their nationals residing as foreigners in both countries, according to Mozambican newspaper Notícias.

The paper reported that for the purposes delegations of the Mozambican tax authority and its Indian counterpart had recently signed a draft in Maputo that, in future, will lead to an agreement.

The paper cited the Information Bulletin of the Mozambican Tributary Authority as saying that the draft document had been signed by Amade Aziza, for the Mozambican side and K. Ramalingam, head of the Indian delegation that visited the country. (macauhub)
