Lisbon, Portugal, 5 May – Portuguese construction company Mota-Engil, which will operate in the areas of environment and highways concessions, is to open the group’s headquarters in Brazil today, according to company CEO, Jorge Coelho.
In recent statements to Portuguese news agency Lusa, Jorge Coelho said that construction, the group’s main business area, was no longer the main focus of the company in Brazil, where it intends to take advantage of business opportunities “in the areas of environment, specifically in waste treatment, and highway concessions.”
In this latter area Mota-Engil is already present in Brazil through Ascendi, in partnership with the Portuguese group, Espirito Santo, holding 40 percent stake.
