Angola: Deputy governor of Zaire announces recovery of province’s road network

Mbanza Kongo, Angola, 7 May – The deputy governor of Zaire province, Rogério Eduardo Zabila, Tuesday in Mbanza Kong announced the launch, this year, of several contracts in the province, including recovery of the region’s network of roads.

Zaire province has a road network of around 2,700 kilometres, mainly made up of dirt roads.

Rogério Zabila made teh announcement during a speech at the opening ecremony of the 10th provincial family coun cilm which ended Wednesday in the city of Mbanza Kongo.

At the moment, he said, final preparation were being made by the companies contracted to refurbish national road 111, which links Mbanza Kongo to the country’s capital (Luanda) and the secondary and tertiary roads.

He added that whilst it was waiting for these projects to go ahead, the provincial government had been carrying out some work on roads in order to ensure roads were still able to be used. (macauhub)
