Guinea Bissau: China delivers over 1,000 tonnes of rice and US$200,000 in aid for presidential elections

Bissau, Guinea Bissau, 14 May – China Wednesday delivered to the government of Guinea Bissau humanitarian aid of over 1,000 tonnes of rice and financial aid of US$200,000 to support the country’s presidential elections due to take place on 20 June.

During the ceremony, which was held at the Guinean Foreign Affairs Ministry, an economic, commercial and technical cooperation agreement was also signed by the two countries.

China has funded and built important infrastructures in Guinea Bissau, namely the country’s parliament building, the Cachungo regional hospital and the 24 de Setembro national Stadium.

Chinese cooperation is currently responsible for the construction of the new Government Palace and a military hospital, with 200 beds. (macauhub)
