Mozambique: Chinese company Construção CCM, Lda. builds office building

Maputo, Mozambique, 1 June – Chinese company, Construção CCM, Lda is building a six storey building in the Mozambican capital that will be used as office space, amongst other uses, Macauhub has been informed in Maputo.

Construção CCM gave no figure for the amount involved in construction of the building belonging to Jossefate Samora Machel, brother of Samora Machel the first president of Mozambique, which is being built in one of the capital’s most prestigious areas.

The Chinese company is also involved in other large projects in Mozambique, similarly to China Heinan International Cooperation Group (Chico) and Anhui Foreign Economic Construction Corporation (AFEC).

Construção CCM is currently constructing the buildings for the new Palace of Justice, the Attorney General Building and the Central Office for Fighting Corruption.

Chinese companies have recently been responsible for building several large public buildings in Mozambique, including the Joaquim Chissano conference centre, the national stadium, which is being built with a loan from China, as well as the expansion and refurbishment of Maputo International Airport, a project that is also being financed by Chinese funds.

China Heinan International Cooperation Group, in its turn, is involved in expanding and refurbishing the integrated water supply system to the areas of Chimoio, Gondola, Manica, Messic and Bandula, in the Mozambican central province of Manica. (macauhub)
