Mozambique: European Commission funds development projects

Maputo, Mozambique, 3 June – Mozambique is to benefit from funding of 430 million euros, as part of the 10th European Development Fund for four sector projects and direct budgetary aid, Mozambican newspaper Notícias reported.

The direct aid to the Mozambican budget, the paper said, would total 303 million euros and aims to ensure execution of the plan to reduce poverty (PARPA II), as well as the national development strategy, with a view to achieving the Development Goals.

The four sector projects, which are also part of the Government’s Indicative Programme for the 2008-2013 period, support the Health sector, reconstruction of the Milange-Mocuba road in Zambézia province, and addenda to the construction project for the bridge over the Zambezi river. (macauhub)
