5 June 2009

Luanda, Angola, 5 June – Nine Angolan airports are able to receive night flights as they have luminous signage, the director of the communications office of airport management company Enana-Ep said Monday Wednesday in Luanda.

Speaking to Angolan news agency Angop, Agostinho Filipe said that both Luanda and Cabinda airports were included in the group of nine.

Namibe and Huambo airports also had semi-definitive lighting systems, and the airports fo Lubango, Catumbela, Sumbe, Benguela and Ondjiva (the latter awaiting certification from the National Aviation institute) had portable runway lighting, Filipe said.

Filipe also noted that, taking into account Angola’s hosting of the Africa Cup of Nations in 2010, Enana was acquiring definitive luminous lighting equipment for the airports of Benguela, Catumbela, Lubango, Cabinda and Malanje.

Enana is focused on improving the condition of the country’s airports and aerodromes, in line with international requirements. (macauhub)
