Luanda, Angola, 8 June – Four concrete bridges are to be rebuilt with funding from the central government in the Angolan province of Kuando Kubango, to improve road travel between the regions of Huíla, Bié and Cunene, Angolan news agency Angop reported.
The provincial director of the Angolan Roads Institute, António Maria told Angop that the bridges would be built over the Cuchi river, 120 metres in length, the Cuelei river, 99 metres, Luassenga, 56 metres, and Cutato at 320 metres long.
The work will be carried out by Cuban construction company Imbondex, which has pledged to deliver the projects this year.
The bridges were destroyed during the civil war and the road link between Kuando Kubango and neighbouring provinces was cut off. (macauhub)
