Angolan government to build 4 factories and a print works in Kuando Kubango province

Menongue, Angola, 9 June – The government of Angola plans to apply US$29 million by 2010 in four factories and a printing company in the province of Kuando Kubango, in the southeast of the country, the national director for Human Resources of the Industry Ministry said Monday in Menongue.

Antonieta Gomes told Angolan news agency Angop that execution of the projects – clay, aluminium products, zinc panel, tire retreading and printing – is part of the central government’s policy to re-launch industrial production across the country and particularly in Kuando Kubango.

The red clay ceramics factory will produce roof tile, tiles and other items for construction and is due to start being built this year. Once it is in operation it will create 60 jobs.

The aluminium and tyre retreading factories will create, 60 and 20 jobs, respectively, whilst teh zinc factory will provide 50 new jobs.

Construction of the print works is expecetd to cost US$5 million and will make it possible to employ 50 local workers. (macauhub)
