Carriageway of bridge over Catumbela river, in Angola, in place

Lobito, Angola, 17 June – Work to lay the carriageway of the new bridge over the Catumbela river, in Lobito municipality, in Angola’s Benguela province, was concluded Monday, Angolan news agency Angop reported. The contract was awarded on 20 September, 2007 to Portuguese group, Mota-Engil and is worth 26.2 million euros.

The new bridge is 438 metres long and has four lanes.

At the moment, as well as finishing work on the project as a whole, public lighting is also being put in place on the bridge and around, in a region between the cities of Benguela and Lobito. (macauhub)
