Houston, USA, 26 June – Anadarko Petroleum Corp. plans to take the drillship Belford Dolphin from the Gulf of Mexico to Sierra Leone and the Ivory Coast and then to Mozambique at the end of the year, the company said in a statement Thursday.
In West Africa the ship will travel to the Venus prospect block in Sierra Leone and later to the South Grand Lahou prospect block in the sea off the Ivory Coast moving on later to Mozambique to start a prospecting programme in the deep waters of the Rovuma basin.
The Belford Dolphin struck oil in the Samurai prospect in the Gulf of Mexico and the company said that reserves were estimated at 350 barrels of oil equivalent (boe), a 50 percent rise against estimates set in March.
As well as Anadarko, partners in the well asre Murphy Oil Co. and Samson Offshore Co. each with a 33.3 percent share. (macauhub)
