Cuito, Angola, 29 June – The new system for collection, treatment and distribution of drinking water in the Angolan city of Cuito is due to be ready at the end of the year, according to the deputy governor of Bié province, Andrade Adolfo.
The work, which is the responsibility of Chinese construction company Sinohydro, began in 2008 at na estimated cost of US$20.3 million and will initially involve 2,000 doemstic connection and installation of 57 water fountains.
During a visit to the work, the deputy governor was able to see the “good rhythm of the work,” which, he said, wouldbenefit 310,000 people. (macauhub)
