Lisbon, Portugal, 4 Aug – The Associação Empresarial de Portugal (AEP) and Exponor are to support the construction of a new fair and exhibition centre in Luanda (Angola), Paulo Nunes de Almeida, the Association’s vice-president said on Monday in Lisbon.
He also told Portuguese news agency Lusa that an agreement should be signed by October and AEP and Exponor, the association’s exhibition centre, will support the Angolan project which should get underway in 2010 with an estimated budget of 220 million Euros.
The AEP’s vice-president was in Luanda to take part in the first edition of the Export Home Angola, a furniture, furnishings, lighting and textiles fair, which ended on Sunday.
The exhibition brought together 83 exhibitors – 76 of whom were Portuguese –and was visited by around 10,000 people.
For AEP’s vice president, the fair enabled “more deals and of a higher value than most of the exhibitors were expecting.”
The fair was the first concrete result of the cooperation protocol which the AEP signed with the Luanda Internal Fair (FIL) last February. (macauhub)
