Praia, Cape Verde, 6 Aug – The United States, through the United States African Development Foundation (USADF), is to make US$1.4 million available to Cape Verde to fund new economic and social development projects, according to Inforpress news agency.
The projects to be funded represent significant support in the fight against poverty and inequality in Cape Verde, directly benefitting a total of 17,000 people from the most marginalized sections of society.
These projects include the increase in water collection capacity for agriculture and human consumption, the building of reservoirs, the boosting of the institutional powers of associations involved and the increase of available funding for microcredit by US$500,000.
Carrying out these projects will create 400 jobs across the several towns to benefit. (macauhub)
