Luanda, Angola, 10 Aug – A new animal feedstuffs factory located in the Pungo Andongo plantation in the Angolan province of Malange will produce around 10 tons an hour, the project’s manager has said.

Carlos Pinto, CEO of Gesterra, the company running the project, said the new plant will be inaugurated within two months and use by-products from corn and soja production to manufacture feedstuffs. The Pungo Andongo plantation, run by the Angolan Agriculture Ministry, has a 33,000 hectare production area geared to produce corn, rice, beans, soy beans and sunflower.

Pinto said the plant’s products will be sold in the provinces of Malanje, Luanda and other regions. Pungo Andongo will also begin pilot seed growing trials, he added. (macauhub)
