14 August 2009

Mbanza Congo, Angola, 14 Aug – Sixteen factories will be built in the coming four years in Angola’s Zaire province as part of a project to re-launch the manufacturing sector there, the local director of industry, geology and mining said Thursday in Mbanza Congo.

Adao Alberto Sofia said the new plants will be to process sugar and fruit and vegetable produce, red clay ceramics, timber products, pesticides, graphic goods and one unit for reconditioned tires.

The local directorate of industry has set up a commission, in partnership with the provincial government, to identify sites for the new manufacturing units, said Sofia, and the ventures, some of which will go ahead this year, are already approved by the government with guaranteed finance. (macauhub)
