172 Mozambican companies due to take part in 2009 edition of Maputo International Fair

Maputo, Mozambique, 18 Aug – A total of 172 Mozambican companies have confirmed they will take part in the 45th edition of the Maputo International Fair (Facim-2009) to be held from 31 August to 6 September, under the theme of, “Facim – a meeting point for businesspeople.”

Mozambican newspaper Notícias cited the organisers of the biggest business fair in Mozambique as saying that, despite the international financial crisis, participation in the fair would not fall far short of last year.

The sales director of organising company, Sociedade Gestora de Feiras, Exposições e Congressos (Sogex), Juvenal Mabote, said that so fair companies from 14 countries had signed up, including a significant number from the Southern African Development Community (SADC), specifically South Africa, via the province of Mpumalanga, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Angola, Swaziland and Zimbabwe, as well as 19 other foreign companies.

Facim-2009 is schedule to have conferences and exhibitions about various business opportunities in Mozambique, as well as the usual commemoration on national days set aside to promote business opportunities in the fair’s participating countries. (macauhub)
