Mozambique’s Ipex organises business meetings during Facim 2009

Maputo, Mozambique, 21 Aug – The Mozambican Institute for Export Promotion (Ipex) is preparing meetings for businesspeople from various countries that will take place during the 45th edition of the Maputo International Fair (Facim) held between 31 August and 6 September.

According to Mozambican newspaper Notícias, businesspeople from Portugal are interested in the processing and sale of grains and production of animal feed, renewable energy, fuel and gas, construction materials and office furniture, automatic doors, road and goods transport and management of information technology projects.

In its turn, Italy’s areas of interest include wood, construction, agri-processing, services, furniture and packaging, whilst India is interested in the agricultural sector.

This year’s edition of Facim, so far has companies from 14 countries signed up, including a significant number from the Southern African Development Community (SADC), specifically South Africa, via the province of Mpumalanga, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Angola, Swaziland and Zimbabwe.

Facim-2009 is scheduled to have conferences and exhibitions about various business opportunities in Mozambique, as well as the usual commemoration on national days set aside to promote business opportunities in the fair’s participating countries. (macauhub)
