Lisbon, Portugal, 28 Aug – Self Energy, a Portuguese company that promotes energy efficiency solutions, had opened a subsidiary in Mozambique in partnership with Visabeira and Mozambique’s Electrotec, Portuguese financial daily Jornal de Negócios reported.
In an initial stage, the new company is to carry out renewable energy solutions, such as wind or solar power, in Visabeira projects, the chairman of Self Energy, Miguel Matias told the paper.
Self Energy Moçambique, which will be officially launched Monday, is based in Maputo and is 45-percent owned by Self Energy, 15-percent by Visabeira and 40 percent by Electrotec, a company specialising in construction of the Mozambican electricity grid.
The new company has starting capital of US$100,000 and in an initial stage plans to invest US$500,000. (macauhub)
