Oil company Esso raises production in Angola

31 August 2009

Luanda, Angola, 31 Aug – The managing director of oil company Esso Angola, James Seale said in Luanda that the oil company planned to boost its presence in Angola with the exploration of the resources in Block 15.

During his speech at a dinner to commemorate the 15th anniversary of Block 15, Seale said that one of the measures was the increase, in September, of production to 1 million barrels of oil, via the Kizomba Satellites project and the conclusion of the gas collection project.

The company’s current daily production in Angola stands at 700,000 barrels.

Seale said that in Bloick 15 the company would increasingly focus on working with national suppliers, as a way of contributing to the development of local companies.

“This method has proven to be successful as the Angolan oil industry has evolved, so the capacities of local suppliers have evolved,” he said. (macauhub)
