7 September 2009

Maputo, Mozambique, 7 Sept – The roads sector in Mozambique will receive funding from Portugal worth 300 million euros, Mozambican newspaper Notícias reported Monday.

The memorandum for the funding is due to be signed Tuesday in the Mozambican capital by the Finance ministers of Mozambique and Portugal.

An addendum to the 100 million-euro credit line to fund road projects in Mozambique is also due to be signed at the same ceremony.

Notícias reported that “the access roads linking different parts of the country are in a terrible state, and this funding is important to improve them.” (macauhub)
