Maputo, Mozambique, 14 Sept – The Moma heavy minerals factory in the northern Mozambican province of Nampula may start operating in December of this year, according to a report from Kenmare Resources Plc, to which Mozambican news agency Aim had access.
The Irish company, which operates the Topuito and Moma mines, said that the unit’s performance since 2007 had risen from 75 percent last April to around 100 percent.
According to a statement from Kenmare Resources in the second quarter of this year, production of Concentrated Heavy Minerals was 23 percent above the amount produced in the previous quarter whilst production of ilmenite and zircon rose 12.2 percent and 45 percent and of rutilium rose 158 percent.
The company said that its results had been improving of late, and the factory saw record production of Concentrated Heavy Minerals last July. (macauhub)
