Luanda, Angola, 28 Sept – Angola is China’s largest trading partner in Africa and the second largest in the world with trade totalling between US$25 billion and US$31 billion in 2008, China’s current ambassador to Angola, Zhang Bolun told Angolan news agency Angop in Luanda.
According to the Chinese diplomat, despite the international financial crisis trade between the two countries has seen as significant rise over the last few years.
Amongst the products traded between the two countries, Angolan oil is the most significant, accounting for 16 percent of China’s imports, Zhang Bolun said.
In terms of private investment, the ambassador said that the number of Chinese businesspeople in Angola was likely to rise over the next year in areas such as agriculture, food, logging and information technology. (macauhub)
