Macau, China, 6 Oct – Macau’s exports between January and August totalled 5.11 billion patacas, a fall of 55.3 percent against the same period of 2008, the region’s Statistics and Census Bureau said cited by news agency MacauNews.
Imports totalled 23.10 billion patacas, a year on year drop of 20.9 percent, which resulted in the balance of trade deficit rising 1.4 percent to 17.98 billion patacas.
The exports/imports ratio was 22.1 percent, which was a year on year fall of 17.1 percentage points.
In August alone, Macau’s exports totalled 582 million patacas, a 55.7 percent fall against August of 2008, and imports fell 13.9 percent year on year to 3.09 billion patacas, representing a deficit of 2.50 billion patacas. (macauhub)
