Lisbon, Portugal, 13 Oct– Banco Espírito Santo Angola (BESA) will have new Angolan partners before the end of this year, the bank’s chairman, Álvaro Sobrinho told Portuguese financial daily Jornal de Negócios.
According to Sobrinho, BESA’s priority will be a transversal financial group, as it will later move ahead with its expansion in Southern Africa.
“The idea is to try to build in Angola a financial group supported by a universal bank, BESA. There is legislation in place to set up non-banking companies, which serve to support products in the banking sector and there we have products to support the business sector, such as leasing,” BESA’s chairman said.
“In real estate funds we want to have a savings product. In Angola rental yields provide very interesting returns and it is in this savings diversification process that we are also working,” he noted. (macauhub)
