Angolan Parliament approves new framework cooperation agreement between Angola and China

Luanda, Angola, 19 Oct – The Angolan national assembly Friday in Luanda unanimously approved a resolution that approves the framework agreement for cooperation between the republics of Angola and China, Angolan news agency Angop reported.

According to the joint report from the commissions for Constitutional Affairs, Legal and Regiment and Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Angolan Communities Abroad the agreement is an opportunity to show the interest and dedication that both countries have in boosting cooperation.

The pact, signed in Beijing on 17 December, 2008, and the contents of which were presented by the deputy Foreign Relations Minister, George Chicoty, also aims to encourage and promote associations between Chinese and Angolan companies.

The president of the National Assembly, Fernando da Piedade Dias dois Santos said that cooperation between Angola and China was positive as it dated back to before the country’s independence in 1975 and was boosted after the end of the civil war in 2002. (macauhub)
