Macau, China, 22 Oct – Relations between Macau and Taiwan are due to enter a new stage, the Macau Chief Executive, Edmund Ho said Wednesday in a speech at the opening ceremony of the seminar on 10 years of relations between Macau and Taiwan.
Ho announced that the government of the Special Administrative Region would boost economic, cultural and social exchange and keep the experience of Taiwan’s success in several areas as a reference for macau’s development.
The chief executive also noted that Macau, in its role as a bridge between the two sides of the strait, had always had an open stance in terms of ensuring an obstacle free channel of exchange.
The results of bilateral cooperation between the SARM and Taiwan have demonstrated that the one country, two systems policy translates into a spirit of tolerance and understanding and has led to the creation of innovative conditions and a greater drive in bilateral relations and in exchange between the two sides of the Strait in general, said Ho.
