Angolan government approves budget proposal for 2010

Luanda, Angola, 29 Oct – The Angolan government Wednesday approved the General State Budget proposal for 2010, which includes estimated expenditure of 3.9 trillion kwanzas or US$46 billion, at current exchange rates.

The meeting of the Council of Ministers also approved the proposal of the Government’s National Plan for 2010/2011, which proposes to promote macroeconomic stability, employment, stabilise prices, improve income distribution, as well as build infrastructures to attract and re-launch private investments and initiatives.

The statement at the end of the meetings aid that, as in previous years, the social sector, which includes education and health, continued to benefit from the biggest share of the budget, with 28.1 percent of total expenditure. (macauhub)
