Luanda, Angola, 30 Oct – Sonangol and ENI Angola Wednesday in Luanda announced the discovery of oil in the Cabaça Norte-1 well, in block 15/06 in deep water off the Angolan coast, 350 kilometres to the north of Luanda.
According to a statement from Sonangol cited by Angolan news agency Angop, the Cabaça Norte-1 well was drilled to a depth of 500 metres and reached a depth below sea level of 2830 metres.
During production tests the well produced over 6,500 barrels of oil per day.
ENI is the operator of the block with a 35 percent stake, Sonangol Sinopec International Limited has 20 percent, Sonangol P&P 15 percent, Tepa Block Total 15 percent, Falcon Oil Holding Angola 5 percent, Petrobras Internacional 5 percent and Statoil Angola Award has 5 percent. (macauhub)
