Alcatel Lucent closes US$12 million deal in Angola

Paris, France, 12 Nov – French company Alcatel-Lucent said Tuesday it had signed a contract worth US$12 million with Bechtel Inc to implement a telecommunications network to support onshore and offshore operations for the Angola LNG factory.

In a statement published on its website, the president of Alcatel-Lucent for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Adolfo Hernandez said that, under the terms of the contract the company was responsible for the design and construction of a turnkey telecommunications solution.

The Angola LNG project is an integrated project for use of has that involves operations on land and at sea and which will make it possible to explore gas resources from oil blocks off the Angolan coast, and operations are due to be launched in 2012. (macauhub)
