Brazil’s Petrobras strikes more oil in Angola

Luanda, Angola, 17 Nov – A new oil well has been discovered in Block 18/06, in the deep waters some 200 kilometres to the north of the Angolan capital, Luanda, by Angolan oil company Sonangol and Brazil’s Petrobras.

In a statement, the two companies said that the oil strike had been in the Manganês-01 well, which was drilled to a depth of 1,500 metres, and where they found oil of excellent quality and a high level of production, which had even exceeded initial expectations.

Petrobras is the block’s operator with a 30 percent stake, Sonangol Sinopec International Limited (SSI) has 40 percent, Sonangol P&P 20 percent, Geminas has 5 percent and Falcon oil a further 5 percent. (macauhub)
