Praia, Cape Verde, 17 Nov – The 13th edition of the International Cape Verde Fair (Fic) is due to open between Wednesday and Friday in Mindelo, Sao Vicente Island, with the confirmed presence of 40 Cape Verdean and Brazilian companies and another 40 from Portugal.
The fair is coordinated by the Windward Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Agriculture and Service (CCIASB) which, at the same time, is also organising a debate on “Logistics in the Mid-Atlantic.”
As well as the fair and the debate, participants will be given a guided tour of the port of Mindelo, to be introduced to the port’s current facilities for trade in the Mid Atlantic, as well as to find out about projects for the near future.
FIC, which will welcome the Cape Verdean prime minister, José Maria das Neves, at its opening ceremony, is a “multi-sector” fair and aims, amongst other things, to boost investments, business and promotion opportunities, as well as trading partnerships and contacts.
Traditional areas such as food, construction and banking, amongst others, will be represented once again, whereas this year will be the first time security forms attend the fair. (macauhub)
