24 November 2009

Praia, Cape Verde, 24 Nov – Cape Verde’s airline has become a fully-fledged member of the International air Transport Association (IATA), the company’s commercial director said.

According to Georgina Benros de Melo, the admission of Cape Verde airlines to IATA is the recognition of all the work the company has done, namely in terms of meeting timetables, service, increased efficiency and reduction of irregularities.

Inclusion in IATA, a world organisation that brings together over 230 companies from 120 countries, “opens up important doors for the company in terms of the future, development of commercial relationships and its capacity to provide a service to other companies,” she explained.

On becoming the newest member of IATA, Cape Verde Airlines now has access to all benefits to association members, mainly a vast array of instruments to carry out technical improvements and provide services, that include infrastructure improvements, increased operating efficiency, cost reduction and others.
