World Bank provides loan for agriculture in Angola

Luanda, Angola, 27 Nov – The World Bank plans to provide Angola with a loan of US$30 million to support farmers in the provinces of Bié, Huambo and Malanje, Angolan news agency Angop reported.

The funding, which was formally agreed Thursday in Luanda, aims to benefit at least 120,000 families and essentially support, small-holders in boosting agricultural activities, increase family income and reduce poverty levels in rural communities.

According to World Bank officials, the loan includes technical assistance to rural workers, execution of rural extension programmes and will make it possible to improve agricultural techniques. (macauhub)
