Angola’s Sonangol carries out geological surveys south of the Kwanza

Luanda, Angola, 17 Dec – Angolan state oil company, Sociedade Nacional de Combustíveis de Angola (Sonangol), is carrying out preliminary surveys of the geological structure located south of the Kwanza (onshore), with the aim of establishing the oil potential that exists there, Angolan news agency Angop reported.

The studies are initially based on a seismic survey of the region, and according to the results of this the project may move on to the later prospecting and production phase.

The project, which already has its environmental licence, covers the provinces of Luanda, bengo Kwanza Norte and Kwanza Sul. (macauhub)
