31 December 2009

Luanda, Angola, 31 Dec – A ceramics factory to make bricks and roof tiles is due to start operating in Sassa Zau, 29 kilometres to the north of the city of Cabinda, in northern Angola, in the first quarter of 2010, according to a report from Angolan news agency Angop Thursday.

The project, valued at US$6 million, will make it possible to reduce construction costs, as well as providing an alternative to operators in the construction market.

When the new factory is fully operation, it is expected to produce 25,000 bricks and between 4,000 and 6,000 roof tiles per day.

Factory officials project daily production of 70,000 ceramic items in the future. (macauhub)
