LAM Mozambique Airlines to begin flights to Portugal in first half of year

Maputo, Mozambique, 12 Jan – Mozambique’s flag carrier LAM plans to begin flights to Portugal “in the first half of this year”, the airline has announced in Maputo.

A note released on Monday also indicates that LAM will take part in the 22nd Lisbon Tourism Fair (BTL) to be held from this Wednesday to Sunday in the Portuguese capital.

“During the fair the national flag carrier will present the innovative experience it placed at its clients’ disposal in December 2009 through its tourism operator LAMTours,” the note states.

A delegation of Mozambican tourism operators will take part in the BTL as well as in the Madrid Tourism Fair (Fitur) in Spain from 20 to 24 January.

The Mozambican delegation includes representatives from the Hotel Polana, Gorongosa National Park, the Rani Group, LAM Mozambique Airlines, Danatur (a travel agency) and the National Tourism Institute.

“LAM’s participation in the Lisbon Tourism Fair anticipates the start of our flights to Portugal within the first half of this year,” the company indicates.
