IMF mission prepares three-year poverty reduction agreement with Guinea-Bissau

Bissau, Guinea-Bissau, 12 Jan – An International Monetary Fund mission is in Bissau for consultations on a three-year agreement for the Programme to Facilitate Growth and Reduce Poverty, indicates a note released by Guinea-Bissau’s Finance Ministry.

The IMF mission headed by Paulo Drummond of Brazil arrived on Monday and will remain in the country until 27 January.

The delegation will also discuss projects for 2010 with the Bissau authorities.
During its last visit the IMF hailed the Guinea-Bissau government’s efforts to consolidate public accounts and announced economic growth of 3 percent for this year. (macauhub)
