Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil, 13 Jan – Embraer delivered 244 aircraft in 2009, 20 percent more than in the previous year and a new company record, the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer has announced.
Sales of Phenom 100 executive jets made a “decisive” contribution to the new delivery record, which also surpassed the company’s own target for 2009, states a note released by Embraer on Tuesday.
The company delivered 91 aircraft in the third quarter alone, far more than the 59 units sold in the last three months of 2008.
In 2008 Embraer delivered 204 aircraft to its clients, a figure marking the previous record.
At the end of October, when it released its third quarter results, the company indicated that is expected to deliver at least 232 aircraft in 2009, and at most 242 units. (macauhub)
