Zhuhai, China, 14 Jan – The administration of the recently created Hengqin New Area has announced an international public competition to create a logo that promotes the identity of China’s third development district.
Hengqin New Area is an island and special economic district of Zhuhai, in turn a special economic zone of Guangdong province. It is located across from Taipa and Coloane islands, which together with the Macau Peninsula form the Macau Special Administrative Region.
The winner will receive a monetary prize of 100,000 yuan or US$14,640. There will also be prizes of 2,000 yuan for each of the 10 top-placed competitors.
The logo design should reflect China’s “one country, two systems” policy, the opening first to Hong Kong and Macau and then to the world, and also the scientific development to be carried out in the new area.
