Kuito, Angola, 15 Jan – Angola’s Bie province should count at least 40 factory units by 2012, the head of the industry division at the provincial department of industry, geology and mines, Alfredo Cussomba, has stated.
The projects include factories for fruit/vegetable processing, transformation and conservation, and for ceramics, rice hulling and tool production, Cussomba told the Angolan news agency Angop on Thursday.
Plans also call for factories to produce explosives, mosaics, zinc sheeting, aluminium framework, aluminium dishware, ready-made articles, agricultural implements and graphic material, as well as for carpentry shops and maize mills.
Other facilities will be set up to bottle mineral water, assemble motorcycles and bicycles and produce chocolate plastic derivatives, pasta, fruit juice and bread.
The said industrial pole is to be installed in Kunje, seven kilometres north of Kuito. (macauhub)
