Kuito, Angola, 20 Jan – The Kunje industrial hub, on the outskirts of the Angolan city of Kuito (Bié province) is estimated to cost US$25 million, the head of the industrial department of the Provincial Directorate for Industry, Geology and Mining, Alfredo Cussomba said Tuesday.
The industrial hub, according to Cussomba, will have around 40 factory units and expects to create over 1,000 jobs.
Cussomba said that food factories would be set up, as well as factories for clothing, zinc sheets, agricultural implements, aluminium items, ceramics, aluminium window frames, carpentry, flour mills, as well as tyre re-surfacing.
He also said that the directorate would also set up mineral water bottling units, units for assembling scooters and bicycles, plastic derivates and others.
The industrial hub will be set up across an area of 25 hectares. (macauhub)
