25 January 2010

Sao Paulo, Brazil, 25 Jan – Brazilian group Odebrecht is analysing the possibility of investing in a petrochemical project in Angola, the group’s chief executive told Brazilian newspaper Estado de São Paulo.

“It is a project that is still at an embryonic stage, but I can say that it has conditions to be viable,” said Newton de Sousa.

The CEO of the group noted that if the project went ahead it would be the responsibility of Braskem, an Odebrecht group subsidiary.

Braskem is a Brazilian petrochemical company, one of the three biggest private industrial companies in the country and it has the biggest thermoplastic resin production plants in Latin America: (macauhub)
