CEO of Millennium Challenge Corporation visits Cape Verde in February

Praia, Cape Verde, 27 Jan – The Chief executive of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), Daniel Yohannes is due to visit Cape Verde on 4 and 5 February, the Cape Verdean press reported.

During his visit, Yohannes is due to meet with government officials including the prime minister, José Maria Neves and the Foreign Affairs Minister, José Brito.

The CEO of the MCC will also meet with civil society representatives and with MCA-Cabo Verde to be informed on the execution of the current Compact and deal with issues related to the development of the second Compact.

Yohannes will also visit some MCA-Cabo Verde projects, namely the port of Praia and roads on Santiago island.

Cape Verde was chosen as the first country to benefit from a second MCC Compact last December.

This will be the first visit to beneficiary countries by the new CEO of the MCC since he was nominated by President Barack Obama on 18 September, 2009. (macauhub)
