Angolan flagship airline plans to increase number of passengers by 600,000 per year

Luanda, Angola, 29 Jan – Angolan airline Taag plans to carry 1.7 million passengers per year as of 2012 as compared to 1.1 million currently, the coordinator of the company’s management commission, Pimentel de Araújo said Thursday in Luanda.

Heading the annual meeting between Taag’s board of directors and delegates of the company in foreign markets, Araújo said that the aim was part of the company’s targets.

Taag plans, as of 2012, to post turnover of US$896 million per year, as compared to US$585 million in 2009.

In terms of net profit, the company’s board forecasts US$60 million as of 2012, as compared to a loss of US$72 million in 2009.

The company also plans to improve its commercial performance and the service it provides to passengers, implement a website sales programme and a Taag call centre as well as a frequent flyer programme.

The two-day meeting aims, amongst other things, to make meetings between company officials more frequent and set up a communication channel for sales, technical and flight operations, financial and commercial matters and customer services. (macauhub)
