22 February 2010

Fremantle, Australia, 22 Feb – Australia’s Baobab Mining Services company has announced plans to resume in early March the prospecting programme for magnetite and ilmenite in Mozambique’s Tete province.

The company, quoted on the Alternative Investment Market of the London Stock Exchange, indicated in a Friday press release that it will continue drilling to evaluate the Zona Sul and Chimbala areas of the Tete project.

The project covers an area of 632 square km and contains two magnetite-ilmenite mineralization areas: Singore in the south and Grupo Massamba in the north

Drilling already conducted by Baobab Mining Services enables resources of 47.7 million tonnes to be estimated in Chitongue Grande and from 400 to 700 million tonnes in the Grupo Massamba area.

In October 2009 the company reported that the Tete project had conditions to produce high quality concentrates of magnetite and ilmenite. (macauhub)
