Angolan private group to repair roads and bridges in Malanje

24 February 2010

Malanje, Angola, 24 Feb – The Angolan business group Gema, linked to construction, has made the construction/renovation of (secondary and tertiary) roads and bridges a priority under terms of the Malanje development protocol signed with the provincial government.

Acceptance of the document by the parties creates conditions to implement the planned actions, the Gema group’s president, Jose Leitao da Costa Silva, said at the Monday signing ceremony.

The protocol must be implemented within two years and contains important instruments, especially regarding road and bridge repair, he stressed, adding that this would facilitate the other envisaged programmes.

To implement the planned projects the company plans to first make a detailed assessment of the amounts to be applied, the Gema president said.
