Luanda, Angola, 4 March – The International Luanda Fair (FIL) Wednesday announced a strategic agreement with Portuguese industrial association, Associação Industrial de Portugal – Confederação Empresarial (AIP-CE), with a view to jointly hosting fairs in Angola.
According to a statement from FIL, cited by Angolan news agency Angop, the partnership agreement was signed in Lisbon by the chairmen of both entities, Matos Cardoso (FIL) and Rocha de Matos (AIP-CE).
The statement also said that the cooperation agreement would not be restricted to a bilateral relationship, as it was hoped it could involve other areas of the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries (CPLP), in order to promote business partnerships between companies from member-states.
“Aimed at the joint organisation of four fairs in Angola in 2010, the partnership contract is more ambitious and is not limited to one-off cooperation activities,” the statement said.
The agreement’s main aim is to increase commercial relations between Portugal and Angola in strategic sectors such as food, construction, real estate and security.
The fairs covered by the contract are real estate fair Salão Imobiliário de Angola (Sima), construction fair Constrói Angola, food fair Alimentícia Angola and security fair Exposegura – Angola, Salão de Segurança. (macauhub)
