Sao Tome, Sao Tome and Principe, 5 March – Sao Tome and Principe and Brazil Thursday in Sao Tome signed a cooperation programme for several areas, worth a total of US$5.8 million, said a source form Sao Tome’s Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Ministry.
Funding covers Brazilian technical support for the application of a minimum wage in Sao Tome and Principe, of the second phase of the school food programmes, institutional strengthening of water management and support for the programme of prevention and control of malaria.
Of the amount announced, the Brazilian government will fund 90 percent, with the remainder provided by the Sao Tome government.
The protocol that was signed marked the end of a week-long visit to Sao Tome by a mission from the Brazilian Cooperation Agency, which analysed several bilateral cooperation projects. (macauhub)
